Until recently, when instructors wanted a Desire2Learn (D2L) course for an upcoming semester, it meant requesting a course, then waiting up to two business days for the course to be created by the Office of Information Technology (OIT). Those days are now a thing of the past. Instructors are now able to create their own course, without waiting for OIT to create it for them.
On June 8, a new course creation process replaced the older, slower process of requesting courses. The new process still begins with the instructor-of-record initiating the process from the Faculty Toolkit in MyCUInfo.
Instructors can then request changes to their course, including combining recitations or labs, or adding additional instructors, teaching assistants, or auditors.
This new course provisioning process uses pop-ups. So please make sure your browser pop-ups are allowed for MyCUInfo before you request a course.
Visit this tutorial for a step-by-step guide on the new process. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the IT Service Center at help@colorado.edu or call 303-735-4357 (5-HELP from a campus phone).
